在发布的预告片段中，C罗表示：“我非常自豪能够代表葡萄牙出战，这是一个梦想。这就是为什么当我决定离开国家队时，我不会事先让任何人知道，这将是我非常自发但也深思熟虑的决定。现在，我想做的就是帮助国家队。”

C罗还谈到了他也在关注葡萄牙联赛，并表达了他对葡萄牙体育的喜爱：“希望他们（葡体）在新赛季能够踢出精彩的比赛，本菲卡和波尔图也有优秀的团队，这会使得联赛竞争更加激烈。”

C罗18岁代表葡萄牙国家队首秀，如今39岁的他已经代表葡萄牙出战过212场比赛，打进130粒进球。
